People all too often associate fog with danger and yes it can be dangerous for many reasons. I also find fog can be beautiful, calming and mysterious. On a fogging November morning, I decided to go for a seafront walk, take some photos and enjoy the change of weather.
When it’s foggy, you can look at familiar settings often with a new perspective. It is also easy to let the imagination flow. On this particular walk I hardly saw anybody and this also added to the experience.
Whilst I usually enjoy seeing great distances at a seafront, this time the view was limited.
The quietness as I strolled along the beachfront with the occasional fog horn from a ship was calming.
The fog provided a new canvas to the familiar and things almost seemed magical at times. This morning I watched Swans glide out of the fog and land on water. I saw beautiful settings transformed.
I’ve updated this blog post in March 2019 with newly edited photos from the walk. Since this walk, I’ve enjoyed other walks in the fog at Ryde seafront and each time, and I’ve always enjoyed the walks.
