Past Revisited: Nasa Kennedy Space Center – Part 1

Nasa Kennedy Space Center

Twenty-two and a half years ago the family went on a fantastic two week holiday to Florida, which included a trip to Nasa’s Kennedy Space Center. However you would have to go back twenty-nine years for one of my first ‘space’ related memories. The visit to the Nasa facility did relight a space passion, one that hasn’t stop.

I often watch the Nasa, Russian and other space rocket launches from around the globe, plus I read a lot of related blogs. The internet truly has allowed space junkies such as me to indulge. I also have an unhealthy scifi book, game, tv show and movie addiction.

All those years ago back at Florida I remember being on the shuttle bus absorbing all the sights, plus walking around taking photos and loving every minute. Unfortunately most of those photos were used as part of a school project, but luckily I still have the negatives waiting to be redeveloped.

However some of the photos my family and I took still are around. I’ve scanned those in and it gives a small glimpse of my experience and of the incredibly facility. I’ve not included any photos including my family, but yes I am the kid with the blue top swearing, the one hanging slightly over the bannister, the one dancing in front of a booster and also enjoying the spacesuit experience. Anyhow better photos are just waiting to be redeveloped so hence why this blog post is ‘Part 1’.

We live in amazing times and how we use space technology to improve our everyday existence, help others, learn about our own planet and also what we are discovering about what lies beyond our planet is gobsmacking.

Below is a small gallery of photos from twenty-two years ago.
